The Insurance (Anti-Money Laundering) Regulations 2008 and the Guidance Notes on Anti-Money Laundering and Preventing the Financing of Terrorism – for Insurers (Long Term Business) have now been revoked. Sector specific guidance for the sectors will be issued in due course. Prior to this being issued relevant persons can continue to refer to the revoked documents for guidance on how to fulfil their responsibilities under the AML/CFT legislation. Relevant persons can also refer to the Anti-Money Laundering and Countering the Financing of Terrorism Handbook, this Handbook currently refers to the Anti-Money Laundering and Countering the Financing of Terrorism Code 2015, but will be updated in due course. The Code part & paragraph changes – Quick reference table contains guidance on the new paragraph numbers and the changes between the Anti-Money Laundering and Countering the Financing of Terrorism Code 2015 and the Anti-Money Laundering and Countering the Financing of Terrorism Code 2019.
