This notice is issued by the Financial Supervision Commission (“the Commission”) in accordance with the powers conferred upon it under Section 22 of the Financial Supervision Act 1988.

The Financial Supervision Commission has been made aware of e-mail correspondence purporting to originate from a Mossack Fonseca, using the above e-mail address.

The Commission is aware of a genuine Mossack Fonseca & Co which is a law firm based Panama which has subsidiary and representative offices in countries around the world, including the Isle of Man. The Commission has been notified that the genuine Mossack Fonseca & Co is in no way connected or associated with these bogus employment offers or the above e-mail address.

The Commission wishes to draw attention to the following observations regarding the aforementioned e-mails:

The correspondence seen by the Commission includes job descriptions which “have the requerements” (sic) : -

• Personal bank account
• Computer with e-mail
• Cell phone
• Ability to access internet whole day
• Have a valid ID

Also included in the correspondence are an “application form waiver” which seeks the completion of personal details, including your signature and an “Employment Agreement” which also requires a signature.

Under the circumstances, the Commission feels that these e-mails are an attempt at gaining personal data from the recipient in order to steal their identity – see explanatory notice issued by the Commission at:

Under the circumstances the Commission would encourage people receiving e-mails matching the above description to refrain from responding to them in any way.

Any persons who have paid funds away or revealed personal or financial information in connection with correspondence matching the above description should contact their local Police Fraud Unit for advice without delay.
