This notice is issued by the Isle of Man Financial Services Authority (“the Authority”) in accordance with the powers conferred upon it under Section 30 of the Financial Services Act 2008.

Contract Resolution Experts

The Authority has become aware of the above-listed entity, cold calling individuals claiming to represent the business, First National Trustee Company Limited.

First National Trustee Company Limited is a genuine licence holder on the Isle of Man.

An individual called ‘James Owen’ claims to be a representative of the above entity and appears to cold call members of the public who may have or had a relationship with the licence holder.

The Authority wishes to draw attention to the following observations:

There are no companies incorporated in the Isle of Man by the name of Contract Resolution Experts. The Authority has established no association between the above entity and any genuine Isle of Man companies or businesses.

The Authority has established no genuine links between the above entity and the Isle of Man.

The telephone number used by this entity (0740360774) is not issued by an Isle of Man telecommunication provider.

A search of all genuine companies incorporated in the Isle of Man can be conducted at https://services.gov.im/companies-registry/

Under the circumstances, the Authority is concerned that any person who has provided their information to this company may potentially become the victim of fraud, or it may be an attempt at gaining personal data to steal their identify.

General advice on how to avoid becoming a victim of identity theft and advanced fee frauds can be found on the Action Fraud website at http://www.actionfraud.police.uk/ID and http://www.actionfraud.police.uk/fraud-az-advance-fee-fraud respectively.

Any persons who are already involved in any dealings with the potentially fraudulent company should consider notifying their local Police, bringing to their attention the contents of this notice.
