The Isle of Man Financial Services Authority (“the Authority”) is responsible, under the Insurance Act 2008, for the registration of general insurance intermediaries in the Isle of Man.

Applications for registration are made in writing by the applicant to the Authority. As part of the registration process the Authority seeks to ensure that new entrants to the insurance sector meet the required minimum standards expected of an Isle of Man regulated entity, thereby protecting the reputation of the Island as a reputable and responsible financial centre.

The documentation required to be submitted as part of the application is defined in the Insurance Intermediaries (General Business) Regulations 1999.
