This notice is issued by the Financial Supervision Commission (“the Commission”) in accordance with the powers conferred upon it under Section 22 of the Financial Supervision Act 1988.

The Financial Supervision Commission have been made aware of faxes allegedly originating from Paola Getti Holdings / Paola Getti Holdings (Isle of Man). These entities purport, within the faxes, to have an address at 21, Victoria Street, Douglas, Isle of Man, IM1 2LH. Enquiries carried out by the Commission have established no genuine link between this entity and that address. The quoted postcode is not appropriate to that address.

Neither Paola Getti Holdings nor Paola Getti Holdings (Isle of Man) is a company incorporated within the jurisdiction of the Isle of Man. Neither is registered as a foreign company having established a place of business on the Isle of Man. Neither is registered as a business name on the Isle of Man.

The text of the faxes states that the sender has visited the recipient’s web site. It states that the sender is having difficulty receiving emails and asks that the recipient telephone them.

Subsequent information obtained by the Commission would suggest that should recipients respond to these faxes they might inadvertently incur premium rate telephone charges.

None of the telephone numbers provided on the faxes are Isle of Man numbers and all appear to be issued by United Kingdom Telecommunication providers.

The Commission would strongly urge persons receiving faxes purporting to originate from Paola Getti Holdings or Paula Getti Holdings (Isle of Man) to refrain from calling any numbers listed, bearing in mind the contents of this public notice.

A warning regarding text, email and fax scams was issued by the United Kingdom Department of Trade and Industry on 11 November 2002.
