This notice is issued by the Financial Supervision Commission (“the Commission”) in accordance with the powers conferred upon it under Section 22 of the Financial Supervision Act 1988.

Private Investi Consulting

The Commission has recently been made aware of emails purporting to have been sent by the above named entity.

Within the emails, the above named purported entity makes (inter alia) the following claims:

“we are conducting a standard process investigation involving a client who shares the same name with you and also the circumstances surrounding investments made by this client at Anglo Irish Bank, Jubilee Buildings, Victoria Street, Douglas Isle of Man IM1 2SH.”;

“The Anglo Irish Bank client died intestate and nominated no next of kin to inherit the title over the investments made with Anglo Irish Bank.”

The emails seek from the recipient information regarding any relative or relation having the same (unspecified) surname as the recipient, whose last known contact address was in Switzerland and who may have made an “investment of considerable value at the Anglo Irish Bank”

The emails quote an alleged postal address of:

“Private Investi Consulting
Jubilee Buildings
Victoria Street, Douglas
Isle of Man, IM1 2SH
For: Anglo Irish Bank (Isle Of Man)”

And an email address of:

“privateinvesti_mayvaele@consultant.com”

The Commission wishes to draw attention to the following observations regarding the aforementioned emails:

There is a genuine holder of an Isle of Man Banking License called Anglo Irish Bank Corporation (I.O.M.) P.L.C. (commonly known as Anglo Irish Bank). Details of all licence holders of the Commission are available on our website www.fsc.gov.im . The postal address of the genuine Anglo Irish Bank is Jubilee Buildings, Victoria Street, Douglas, Isle of Man IM1 2SH. There is no entity by the name of Private Investi Consulting at that address. The email address quoted in the emails is not related to or known to the genuine Anglo Irish Bank.

There is no entity by the name of Private Investi Consulting known to or associated with the genuine Anglo Irish Bank.

The emails have not been sent with the authority, consent or knowledge of the genuine Anglo Irish Bank or any of its staff.

Private Investi Consulting is not a company incorporated within the jurisdiction of the Isle of Man. It is not registered as a foreign company having established a place of business on the Isle of Man. It is not registered as a business name on the Isle of Man.

Private Investi Consulting is not licensed by the Financial Supervision Commission to undertake banking business or any other regulated activity.

The Commission has established no association between Private Investi Consulting and any genuine Isle of Man companies.

The Commission has established no genuine links between Private Investi Consulting and the Isle of Man.

Under the circumstances the Commission is concerned that these emails may be being issued to either tempt the recipient into becoming the victim of an Advance Fee Fraud (see explanatory notice issued by the Commission at:

or are an attempt at gaining personal data from the recipient in order to steal their identity (see explanatory notice issued by the Commission at:

Under the circumstances the Commission would encourage people receiving emails matching the above description to refrain from responding to them in any way.

Any persons who have paid out funds in relation to the above emails or who have provided personal financial details in relation to the above emails should consider contacting their local police fraud unit without delay.
