This notice is issued by the Financial Supervision Commission (“the Commission”) in accordance with the powers conferred upon it under Section 30 of the FinancialServices Act 2008.

The Commission has recently been made aware of e-mail correspondence principally originating from the domain name royalcanarytrust.org.uk and various documents purporting to have been issued by the above entities which falsely claims to have an address of 30 Royal Court, Royal Avenue, Onchan, Isle of Man, IM3 1LH, United Kingdom. The documents list a telephone and fax numbers for the above entity of +44 20 7060 1733 and +44 20 7060 0245.

In the correspondence seen by the Commission it states: “…This letter of probate automatically relegate absolute right to you as the legal beneficiary of the said funds. As such you will be the only one who can lay claims to this funds…” “…that the total sum of US$48,300,000.00 (Forty EightMillion And Three hundred thousand United States Dollars)…”

Research carried out by the Commission has identified that there is a 30 Royal Court, Royal Avenue, Onchan, Isle of Man, however, the postcode is IM3 1LQ and the Commission has been unable to identify any genuine connection between the above named entity and that address.

The above entities are not companies incorporated within the jurisdiction of the Isle of Man. They are not registered as foreign companies having established a place of business on the Isle of Man. They are not registered as business names on the Isle of Man.

The above entities are not licensed by the Commission to undertake any regulated activity in, on or from the Isle of Man.

Under the circumstances the Financial Supervision Commission feels that this correspondence is being issued to tempt the recipient into becoming the victim of an Advance Fee Fraud – see explanatory notice issued by the Commission at:

Under the circumstances, the Commission would strongly urge that persons in receipt of correspondence similar to the above description, purporting to have been sent by the above entities, exercise the greatest possible caution before proceeding, bearing in mind the contents of this public notice.
