This notice is issued by the Financial Supervision Commission (“the Commission”) in accordance with the powers conferred upon it under Section 30 of the Financial Services Act 2008.

 Under the circumstances, the Commission would strongly urge persons considering dealing with these potentially fraudulent entities to exercise the greatest possible caution before proceeding, bearing in mind the contents of this public notice.

The Commission has recently become aware of two websites purporting to represent the companies Zurich Bank Ireland and Private Zurich Bank both claiming to have their registered offices at PO Box 422, Douglas, Isle of Man.

Both of the websites linked to these purported companies appear to be partially or fully cloned from the website of the genuine Isle of Man company Zurich Bank International Limited who have their genuine registered office at PO Box 422, 43-51 Athol Street, Douglas, Isle of Man. Zurich Bank International Limited have no association with or knowledge of the above named entities.

The purported entities Zurich Bank Ireland through the website www.zb.ie.com and Private Zurich Bank through the website www.prtzurichb.com claim to offer general banking services.

The Commission wishes to draw attention to the following observations:

• The telephone and fax numbers used by these entities on the stated websites namely 0704 5719 404 and 0773 246 3427 are not issued by Isle of Man telecommunication providers.
• There are no companies incorporated in the Isle of Man by the names of Zurich Bank Ireland nor Private Zurich Bank.
• The Commission has established no association between the above entities and any genuine Isle of Man companies or businesses.
• The Commission has established no genuine links between the above entity and the Isle of Man.

A search of all genuine companies incorporated in the Isle of Man can be conducted on the Companies Registry webpage.

To offer banking services in or from the Isle of Man requires a licence issued by the Commission.

Under the circumstances, the Commission feels that any person accessing this fraudulent websites may potentially become the victim of an Advanced Fee Fraud.

It may be an attempt at gaining personal data from the recipient in order to steal their identity (Identity Theft).

Any persons who have paid funds to the above entities should consider contacting their local Police without delay.
