The Authority has recently become aware of a website https://financialmodelscompany.com purporting to represent the company Financial Models Corporation based in Schaumburg, Illinois, United States of America.

This entity, on the aforementioned website offer various financial and banking training courses.

One such course titled “Blockchain Application in International Trade Finance” was schedulded to be held at a local hotel in the Isle of Man on two dates, February 21-22, 2017 and March 8-9, 2017.

Enquiries at the hotel showed that someone purporting to represent Financial Models Corporation had made a tentative booking for a room but on the day of the first planned course no representatives from Financial Models Corporation nor any individuals persuaded to sign up for the course attended.

This, together with other enquiries made lead us to suspect that the offering of this course may not be what it seems and there are some concerns about its’ authenticity.
