Appointment of New Chair of the IOMFSA
The Isle of Man Financial Services Authority (the “Authority”) is delighted to announce the appointment of Lillian Boyle as its new Chair with effect from 1 July 2018.
Lillian previously served as Deputy Chair of the Authority. She is a Scottish lawyer, a Trust & Estate Practitioner and a Fellow of the Securities & Investment Institute (“CISI”), the Chartered Insurance Institute (“CII”) and the Institute of Directors. Lillian has extensive financial services experience having been managing director and chairman of Isle of Man life companies and has previously held non-executive roles in investment and trust businesses in the Isle of Man and UK life assurance. She has been a member of the UK Financial Reporting Council’s Conduct Committee being particularly involved in the oversight of Audit Quality Review work and has also been Chairman of several Audit & Risk Committees in the UK.
Lillian has been Chairman of the Manx Insurance Association, President of Isle of Man CISI and CII branches and served on a number of joint government and industry forums. She was recently appointed Chair of the Isle of Man Research Ethics Committee. Lillian is a former UK President of the CII and now sits on its professional standards committee and is a Trustee Director of a UK based charity.
In her spare time over the past 10 years she has been heavily involved with the Isle of Man MS Society to the extent of even doing a couple of abseils off the TT tower to raise funds but otherwise she just sticks to walking as an outdoor pursuit.
The Authority would like to express its thanks to its outgoing Chair, Geoff Karran, for his years of dedicated service and leadership.
